🎁 Creating and Running Giveaways

SheevChat Giveaways track chat or watched-stream entries, tickets, bonuses, winners, and claims.

Creating a Giveaway

  1. Navigate to Bot Commands.
  2. Select Giveaways.
  3. Click New Giveaway.
  4. Enter a short unique ID, Name, and Prize.
  5. Choose the entry settings and platforms.
  6. Configure tickets, bonuses, winner options, and closing behavior.
  7. Click Create Giveaway.
  8. Find the Giveaway under Saved Giveaways and click Start.

Entry Modes

  • Keyword — viewers enter with a command such as !enter.
  • Keyword + game username — viewers include the account name needed for the prize.
  • Game username only — a valid game username becomes the entry.
  • Free – any chat message — any message enters the viewer.
  • Watched Stream — eligible active Twitch viewers are entered automatically.

Use Entry aliases to accept extra commands such as !join or !raffle.

Who can enter can allow everyone, subscribers/members, followers, or moderators:

  • Everyone allows every otherwise eligible viewer.
  • Followers requires verified Twitch follow status.
  • Members / Subscribers requires an actual platform membership or subscription.
  • Moderators requires moderator authority.

VIP or moderator status does not automatically qualify someone for a follower-only or subscriber-only Giveaway.

For username modes, choose accepted patterns. * accepts letters/numbers and # accepts one digit.

Watched-Stream Giveaways

Watched Stream is Twitch-only and uses SheevChat's active watch-presence data:

  • Eligible viewers are entered automatically while the Giveaway is active.
  • Each viewer receives one base entry.
  • Viewers do not need to type !enter; chat entry commands are ignored.
  • Filtered Accounts with Giveaways enabled are excluded.
  • Loyalty Bonus can still add entry weight without spending Points.

The Giveaway card shows the live count of auto-entered watchers. Keep Twitch connected and allow time for viewer presence to populate before selecting a winner.

Tickets and Loyalty Points

Set Ticket cost to 0 for free tickets. A higher value spends the viewer's Loyalty Points for each purchased ticket.

Max Tickets / User limits purchases. Viewers can use:

!enter
!enter 5
!enter max

The last two examples purchase multiple tickets when allowed.

Subscriber Bonus Tickets adds free entry weight for eligible subscribers or members.

Loyalty Bonus

Loyalty Bonus adds entry weight from eligible Points earned while the Giveaway is open. It does not spend the viewer's balance.

+1 bonus per 10 Points
Maximum bonus: 5

Only entered viewers receive this weight. Set a maximum to keep entries balanced.

Eligible Loyalty Bonus earnings are ordinary chat and passive watch-presence Points earned while the Giveaway is open. First-ever chat, first-daily or welcome-back rewards, manual adjustments, game prizes, and event bonuses do not increase Giveaway weight.

Closing and Winner Options

Choose a Close behavior:

  • Manual — you stop entries yourself.
  • Timer — entries close after a number of minutes.
  • Date / time — entries close at a scheduled time.

Enable Announce Winner In Chat to post the winner on their platform.

Enable Require Chat Claim when the winner must speak after being selected. SheevChat tracks the claim status.

Promote an Active Giveaway

Enable Periodic Chat Promotion when SheevChat should remind viewers while entries are open.

  1. Choose the promotion interval.
  2. Select the platforms that should receive it.
  3. Edit the promotion message and insert the available Giveaway variables.
  4. Enable Send When Giveaway Starts if the first message should post immediately.
  5. Save the Giveaway.

Only selected, currently send-capable chats receive a promotion. Edits made while the Giveaway is active replace its existing schedule rather than adding a second one. Stopping, picking a winner, resetting, or deleting the Giveaway cancels the schedule.

When multiple keyword Giveaways are active, include the Giveaway ID or use the provided variables so viewers know which entry command to use. TikTok promotions must remain link-free.

Giveaway Images

Choose a Media image / GIF to display with that Giveaway in the overlay.

Click Upload to use the Media Library. With no selection, the default icon is used.

Running the Giveaway

Use the Giveaway card controls:

  1. Click Start to open entries.
  2. Click Entries to review entrants and entry weight.
  3. Click Stop entries when ready, unless it closes automatically.
  4. Click Pick winner.
  5. Wait for the winner to chat if claiming is required.
  6. Click Redraw if another winner is needed.

Reset clears the run for reuse. Delete removes it.

Adding the Overlay to OBS

  1. Navigate to Settings → Overlays.
  2. Expand Giveaway Overlay.
  3. Choose how multiple Giveaways display:
  • Stack shows several cards together.
  • Carousel rotates between cards.
  1. Adjust its timing or card settings and click Preview.
  2. Copy the URL into an OBS Browser Source.

For a second-PC setup, select LAN / Second PC under Source Mode before copying the URL.

You can instead add a Giveaway widget to a saved Overlay Builder layout when it should share one source with other widgets.

Common Problems

  • No one can enter: Confirm the Giveaway is started and their platform is enabled. In Watched Stream mode, confirm Twitch watch presence is available.
  • Entry command fails: Check the entry mode, keyword, permission, and username format.
  • VIP or moderator is rejected: Their role does not replace verified follow, membership, or subscription status when that audience is selected.
  • Tickets cannot be purchased: Enable Loyalty Points and check the viewer's balance.
  • Bonus seems too strong: Lower subscriber bonuses or cap Loyalty Bonus.
  • Winner is not announced: Confirm SheevChat can send to that platform.
  • Promotions do not post: Confirm the Giveaway is active, promotion is enabled, and at least one selected platform can send chat.
  • TikTok promotion is skipped: Remove links from its message.
  • Overlay is blank: Start a Giveaway and verify the OBS URL.
  • !enter is ignored: This is expected in Watched Stream mode.
