How To Set Up the Remote Mod Dashboard

The Mod Dashboard gives a trusted moderator a browser-based chat view and controls from another device on your local network.

Pair a Moderator Device

  1. Keep SheevChat running on the host PC.
  2. Connect the moderator device to the same Wi-Fi or LAN.
  3. Open Settings → Sources → Mod Dashboard.
  4. Start with Unaliased, especially on Android or Galaxy devices. Try Aliased when the device supports .local addresses.
  5. Scan the QR code, or use Copy URL and send the local address to the device.
  6. Enter the four-digit Pair Code on the moderator device.

The code expires after about ten minutes. Use Refresh Code if necessary. Each browser keeps its own paired token, so normal return visits do not require a new code.

Connect Moderator Accounts

On the moderator device, sign in to the platform accounts the moderator will use for Twitch, YouTube, or Kick. These sign-ins stay in that device's browser and are not stored in the streamer's SheevChat configuration.

The current pinned message appears above dashboard chat and can be unpinned by the moderator. Create new pins from SheevChat's main Chat panel; Twitch pins are native when supported, while other platform pins remain local to SheevChat.

When Show chat image previews is enabled on the host, safe direct images and supported Twitch GIPHY content appear in dashboard chat. Link Guard-blocked or unsafe image locations remain hidden. See How To Show Image and GIF Previews in Chat.

The dashboard follows the global theme and readability options selected in SheevChat under Settings → General → Themes and Accessibility.

Only use the dashboard on trusted devices and accounts that already have the appropriate moderation permissions on the streaming platform.

Troubleshooting

  • If the QR page does not open, confirm both devices are on the same network.
  • Use Unaliased when an Aliased .local address does not resolve.
  • Allow SheevChat and its current port through Windows Firewall.
  • Refresh the pairing code if it expired before entry.
  • If the dashboard loads but cannot send or moderate, check that the moderator signed in on that device and has platform permissions.
  • Pair again after clearing that browser's site data, changing SheevChat's port, or moving the host to a different network address.

The dashboard is intended for local-network access. Do not expose its address or SheevChat's port directly to the public internet.
