How To Connect Multiple YouTube Livestreams

SheevChat can combine chat from multiple active YouTube livestreams owned by your connected channel.

Before You Begin

  • Sign in to YouTube under Settings → Connect.
  • Make sure the additional broadcast is currently live and has live chat enabled.
  • Copy its YouTube video ID, watch URL, or live URL.

Manual connections work only for active livestreams owned by the authenticated YouTube channel. They are session-only and do not return automatically after restarting SheevChat.

Connect a Specific Livestream

  1. Open Settings → Connect → YouTube.
  2. Paste the video ID or URL into Manual video ID.
  3. Click Manual.
  4. Confirm the connected video appears as a removable ID control.

Accepted examples include:

dQw4w9WgXcQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
https://www.youtube.com/live/dQw4w9WgXcQ

Repeat these steps for another simultaneous broadcast. Messages from every connected broadcast are combined in SheevChat while retaining their YouTube identity.

SheevChat also combines the available live viewer totals from all connected active YouTube broadcasts. It waits for trustworthy broadcast values rather than presenting missing data as zero. See How To Understand Viewer Totals and Seen Users.

Disconnect One Manual Stream

Click the connected video-ID control you want to remove. SheevChat stops only that livestream's chat reader and leaves the others connected.

Removing the last manual ID disconnects YouTube when no automatically discovered reader remains.

Return to Automatic Discovery

While any manual ID remains connected, SheevChat does not automatically add an unspecified second YouTube broadcast.

Remove the manual IDs and click the normal Connect button to return to automatic discovery for your channel's active broadcast.

When Manual Connection Is Useful

  • Managing simultaneous horizontal and vertical broadcasts
  • Combining chats for a collaboration hosted on one channel
  • Selecting the exact live video when automatic discovery chooses the wrong broadcast
  • Connecting without waiting for a background discovery check

Common Problems

  • Video is rejected: Confirm it is live, owned by the signed-in YouTube channel, and has live chat available.
  • A normal video will not connect: Manual connection accepts active livestreams, not uploads or ended broadcasts.
  • The same chat appears twice: Re-entering an already connected ID should not create another reader; remove its control and reconnect if the status looks stale.
  • Manual stream disappeared after restart: Manual IDs are intentionally session-only; reconnect them when needed.
  • Automatic discovery does not add another stream: Remove all manual IDs before returning to normal Connect behavior.
