How To Understand Viewer Totals and Seen Users

SheevChat combines available live viewer totals from Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and TikTok while keeping recently seen chatters clearly identified as a different kind of information.

Where to See Viewer Information

Viewer totals and lists appear in:

  • The main Viewers drawer
  • The Viewer dock
  • A Viewers panel in Mobile / Tablet Light

Keep the relevant platform connected and live. Counts update as SheevChat receives fresh information from each provider.

Live Counts Versus Seen Users

These labels do not mean the same thing:

  • Live viewer count is the latest audience total reported by the platform.
  • Seen users are accounts SheevChat observed chatting or joining during the session.

A seen-user list is not a complete list of everyone currently watching. YouTube, Kick, and TikTok do not always provide a current chatter roster, so SheevChat retains known names without presenting them as live presence.

Understand Each Platform

  • Twitch uses its current chatter information and live viewer data.
  • YouTube refreshes each active broadcast and combines their reported viewer totals.
  • Kick refreshes the channel's available live count while retaining seen chatters separately.
  • TikTok updates from LIVE room information and retains the last confirmed count between sparse updates.

When a provider has not supplied a trustworthy current count, SheevChat shows it as unavailable rather than pretending the audience is zero.

Each platform keeps its own viewer identities and eligibility. A name seen on Twitch is not automatically the same person on Kick, YouTube, or TikTok. Random-viewer variables can select from one platform or combine eligible viewers across platforms; see How To Select Random Viewers.

Multiple YouTube Broadcasts

When two or more owned YouTube livestreams are connected, SheevChat waits for available counts from the active broadcasts and includes them in the combined YouTube total.

Removing or ending one broadcast removes its contribution. See How To Connect Multiple YouTube Livestreams for manual video-ID connections.

Disconnecting and Ending a Stream

Disconnecting a platform or ending its LIVE clears that platform's live count. Seen users can remain labeled as session history; this does not mean they are still watching.

TikTok's last confirmed count may remain visible while the LIVE is active even if room updates become intermittent. It clears when the LIVE ends or TikTok disconnects.

Common Problems

  • Count says unavailable: Wait for the platform's next update and confirm the channel is live and connected.
  • Seen users do not match the count: Seen users are observed accounts, not the full current audience.
  • YouTube total misses a broadcast: Confirm every active video is connected and has reported a count.
  • TikTok count looks unchanged: TikTok updates may be sparse; SheevChat keeps the latest confirmed live value instead of showing a false unavailable state.
  • A disconnected platform still lists names: Those are retained seen users from the session, not a live viewer roster.
