How To Create a VIP Shoutout Command
This creates a !shoutout username command that VIPs, moderators, and the broadcaster can use on Twitch or Kick.
Create the Command
- Open Bot Commands → Commands.
- Click New Custom Command.
- Set Command to
shoutoutwithout the!. - Set Who can use it to VIP. SheevChat treats this as VIP or higher.
- Enable Twitch and Kick under Active on platforms.
- Add a reasonable cooldown, such as 10 seconds.
- Enter this response:
Check out {target} at {target.url}! They were last seen playing {target.game}.
- Save and enable the command.
Use It
!shoutout username
SheevChat uses the first word after the command as the target. An optional @ is removed automatically.
{target}— supplied username{target.url}— that user's profile URL on the current platform{target.game}— their channel's saved category or game on Twitch or Kick{target.title}— their channel's saved stream title on Twitch or Kick
For a longer response, add the title:
Check out {target} at {target.url}! They were last seen playing {target.game}: {target.title}
If channel metadata cannot be found, the game or title returns Unavailable. Keep this command limited to Twitch and Kick because target game and title lookups are not supported on YouTube or TikTok.
This command posts a custom chat response. If you want to send Twitch's native shoutout notification instead, use the Twitch Shoutout action in Action Builder from a suitable Command, Automation, or SheevPad button. Native Twitch shoutouts follow Twitch's own permission and cooldown rules.
Test It
Use Tests or a connected chat to run the command with a real username. Confirm the profile URL, game, permission, and cooldown before using it live.
