How To Customize SheevChat Themes and Accessibility
SheevChat's app theme controls the appearance of the main app and supported companion windows from one place.
Choose an App Theme
- Open Settings → General.
- Expand Themes and Accessibility.
- Select an option under App Theme.
- Review the preview panel and choose a theme that keeps both primary and secondary text comfortable to read.
The selected theme is saved automatically and is shared with supported SheevChat windows, including Marketplace, Overlay Builder, SheevPad, Data Manager, the Test Panel, Media Requests, Mobile / Tablet Light, and the Remote Mod Dashboard.
App themes do not replace the styling of user-designed overlays, custom SheevPad button colors, or button images.
Create a Custom Theme
- Select Custom under App Theme.
- Adjust the background, surface, text, accent, and border colors.
- Enter a Custom theme name.
- Click Save Theme.
Select a saved custom theme from the same menu whenever you want to load it again.
To revise one, load it, change its colors, and click Update Theme. Click Delete to remove the selected saved theme. Deleting it keeps its current colors loaded as an unsaved custom theme, so you can still adjust or save them again.
Improve Readability
The Readability options can be combined with any built-in or custom theme:
- Stronger text contrast makes secondary and muted text easier to distinguish.
- Reduce transparency makes translucent panels more solid.
- Clearer keyboard focus outline makes the selected control easier to follow when navigating by keyboard.
- Underline links makes clickable text more obvious.
Changes apply automatically to supported open windows. Use the preview to check buttons, inputs, borders, primary text, and muted text together.
Adjust Text Size and Zoom
Use the font-size sliders in the same section to adjust Chat, Events, Viewers, and Sidebar text independently.
Use Ctrl/Cmd with + or = to zoom in, - to zoom out, and 0 to reset the whole interface. Font-size controls affect specific content areas; zoom scales the complete app.
Common Problems
- A companion window still uses the old theme: Refresh or reopen that window after saving the setting.
- An OBS overlay did not change: App themes do not override user-designed overlay content. Edit that widget or its widget theme in Overlay Builder.
- A SheevPad button did not change: Custom button colors and images remain independent from the global app theme.
- Custom colors are difficult to read: Enable stronger contrast or increase the difference between the background, primary text, and muted text colors.
- A saved theme disappeared: Deleted custom themes are not recoverable unless their colors are still loaded and saved again.
