How To Pin Chat Messages
Pinned messages stay visible above chat in SheevChat, the Chat Dock, Mobile / Tablet Light, and the Remote Mod Dashboard.
Pin a Message
- Find the message in SheevChat's main Chat panel.
- Click its 📌 Pin message button.
- Choose a duration:
- Until unpinned
- 30 seconds
- 1 minute
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 30 minutes
- Click Pin.
Only one message is displayed as the current pin. Pinning another message replaces it.
Each surface remembers its own Compact or Expanded pinned-message view, so the main app, Chat Dock, Mobile / Tablet Light, and Remote Mod Dashboard can use different layouts.
Native and Local Pins
On Twitch, SheevChat uses Twitch's native pinning when the connected account and message support it. The selected duration is sent to Twitch, including Until unpinned.
On other platforms, SheevChat creates a local pin. Local pins appear across SheevChat's connected chat surfaces but do not create a native platform pin.
Unpin a Message
Click Unpin on the pinned-message banner. It can be unpinned from the main Chat panel, Chat Dock, Mobile / Tablet Light, or Remote Mod Dashboard.
The main Chat panel also has Clear to TTS. It temporarily hides that banner so text-to-speech controls have room, but it does not unpin the message from Twitch or the other SheevChat surfaces.
Common Problems
- Pin button is missing: The message or connected account may not support pinning from that surface.
- Twitch pin fails: Confirm the connected account has suitable channel permissions and the original message has a valid Twitch message ID.
- Pin only appears in SheevChat: Non-Twitch platforms use a local SheevChat pin.
- Pin disappears automatically: Its selected duration expired.
- A different message is pinned: A newer pin replaced the previous one.
