How To Use Trivia

Trivia runs one shared timed game across the selected connected Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and TikTok chats. Every participating platform receives the same question, and answers compete in one global game.

Configure Trivia

  1. Open Bot Commands → Chat Games.
  2. Set the answer time and number of questions per session.
  3. Choose a difficulty and category, or leave either set to Any.
  4. Set the gap between questions.
  5. Choose countdown warnings such as 30, 10, or 5 seconds.
  6. Enable the platforms where trivia may run.
  7. Set Win Points. Use 0 if no Loyalty Points should be awarded.
  8. Edit the winner response if desired. It supports {user}, {answer}, and {points}.
  9. Choose an Award mode:
  • First correct answer ends the question when the first viewer answers correctly.
  • All correct answers at end keeps the question open until time expires and rewards every correct viewer once.

Winners retain the platform identity where they answered and receive Loyalty Points on that platform. The selected connected platforms are captured when the game starts; a failed opening destination is removed without creating a second independent game.

Start and Stop a Game

A moderator or broadcaster starts a session with !trivia and stops it with !triviastop. Viewers answer directly in chat. In all-correct mode, each viewer is counted once and chat receives one summarized result after the timer ends.

Use Test on Twitch to check the flow before stream and Stop Twitch to end that test. If another trivia trigger fires while a game is already active, SheevChat ignores it and places a notice in the local Events feed.

Run Trivia Automatically

Trivia is also available as an Action Builder action. Add Start trivia to a Timer when you want games on a schedule, or to an Automation when an event should begin one.

The session still uses the settings from Chat Games, so configure and test those first. Avoid schedules shorter than the full session.

Tips

  • Start with one or two questions and a generous answer time.
  • Enable only platforms whose chat you want participating in that session.
  • TikTok must be connected to the active LIVE, with outbound chat ready, to receive questions and results.
  • Configure Loyalty Points before offering a points prize.
  • Use all-correct mode when participation matters more than answering first; its public winner list is capped for readability.
  • Adjust category, difficulty, or timing if chat regularly receives questions that are too narrow or expires without answers.
