How To Create TikTok Event Automations

TikTok LIVE events can trigger chat messages, alerts, TTS, counters, OBS actions, Marketplace widgets, and other SheevChat actions.

Before You Begin

  • Connect SheevChat to an active TikTok LIVE.
  • Complete the managed browser login if the Automation will send chat.
  • Decide whether repeated events should run once each or be limited by a cooldown.

See How To Connect TikTok LIVE and Send Chat for connection and outbound-message setup.

Create the Automation

  1. Open Bot Commands → Automations.
  2. Click New.
  3. Name the Automation.
  4. Open When and choose the appropriate TikTok event from the provider-organized trigger picker.
  5. Open Where, choose TikTok, and configure the event filters.
  6. Set a cooldown when repeated events should not overlap.
  7. Open Do and add one or more actions.
  8. Save and enable the Automation.

Supported TikTok event families include follows, shares, like milestones, questions, subscriptions or Super Fans, gifted subscriptions, and finalized gifts.

Use Event Variables

The available variables appear in the action editor and depend on the chosen event. They can include:

  • Viewer display name, unique username, and stable user ID
  • Gift name, gift count, diamonds, and calculated amount
  • Subscription count or type
  • Room details, viewer totals, likes, and goals

Use Insert Variable instead of typing a variable from memory. For example:

Thank you {user} for sending {giftCount}x {giftName}! 💜

Only use variables displayed for that trigger. A Needs warning means the trigger does not supply something required by an action.

Handle Gifts Correctly

Use the finalized gift event for actions that should run once after a gift streak finishes. This avoids firing a full celebration for every intermediate streak update.

Use filters for gift name, count, diamonds, or other available values when different gift levels should produce different effects. Create separate Automations for clearly different tiers.

Choose Useful Actions

Common recipes include:

  • Follow → thank-you chat message
  • Share → update a Viewer Counter
  • Like milestone → trigger a small alert
  • Question → display text in an overlay
  • Subscription → play TTS or Media Library audio
  • Finalized gift → trigger a Marketplace widget, change a scene, or run a larger action sequence

When sending chat back to TikTok, use Same platform as event and keep the message link-free.

Cooldowns and Overlap

Like milestones and busy gift periods can arrive quickly. Add a cooldown when an alert, camera effect, or audio sequence must finish before another begins.

A cooldown suppresses a new Automation run; a Pause only delays later actions inside a run. Choose the behavior that matches the effect.

Test Safely

Use SheevChat's available event tests to verify variables and harmless actions. A simulated event confirms the Automation design but cannot prove TikTok connectivity or a monetized provider event.

For a live test, begin with a visible but harmless action such as a chat message, counter increment, or test overlay. Add scene changes or larger effects after the event matches correctly.

Common Problems

  • TikTok is unavailable in Where: Choose a TikTok-supported trigger first and confirm TikTok is connected.
  • Gift action runs too often: Use the finalized gift trigger and add an appropriate cooldown.
  • Variable stays visible as text: Insert a variable offered by the selected trigger.
  • Chat action is skipped: Remove links and confirm the managed TikTok browser session is ready.
  • Old activity fires after connecting: Current events are time-filtered; reconnect and inspect TikTok diagnostics if historical traffic appears actionable.
