👋 Welcome Back Message

SheevChat can automatically welcome viewers back the first time they chat each stream. This is a great way to greet returning community members or acknowledge viewers as they arrive.

Creating the Automation

  1. Navigate to Bot Commands.
  2. Select Automations.
  3. Click New.
  4. Enter a name such as Welcome Back Message.
  5. Choose a category, or leave it Uncategorized.
  6. Set the Trigger to First Chat This Stream (Welcome Back).
  7. Leave Platform set to All, or choose a specific platform if you only want the automation to run there (for example, YouTube only).
  8. If you only want specific viewers to receive a welcome back message, add their usernames. Leave this field blank to welcome everyone.

Action 1 — Send Welcome Back Message

  1. Click Add Action.
  2. Select Chat Bot Commands.
  3. Select Send Chat Message.
  4. Enter the message you would like to send.

Example

Welcome back {user}! 👋 Thanks for stopping by again!
  1. Use the Insert Variable panel to personalize your message with viewer information.
  2. Use the Emotes button to insert emotes. Emotes are inserted as plain text but will render correctly in chat.
  3. Leave the remaining options at their defaults or customize them to your liking.

Common Variables

Finally, click Save Changes. Your welcome back message will automatically be sent the first time each viewer chats during a stream.
